Mara Dobresco, piano
Mara Dobresco has been the winner of numerous international competitions. She gives recitals in Europe, South America, Asia and United States. She also performs with orchestras in Europe. Mara Dobresco pursues her career as a soloist and, at the same time, is interested in the dramatic character of musical gestures; she takes part in numerous projects based on the links between theatre, literature and music. Her meeting with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and György Kurtag enabled her to discover the wealth of the contemporary repertoire and she has been exploring it ever since. Besides, she is practising the pianoforte under the teaching of Patrick Cohen and regularly gives concerts on this instrument.
Her record, devoted to the music of Clara and Robert Schumann (Longdistance Label) has met with unanimous acclaim from the critics.
