Jane Latron

Conductor

Biography

Jane Latron is one of the most promising emerging French conductors. She is praised for her bold artistic approach, instinctive creativity, and the precision of her conducting.

In 2025, Jane made her debut with the Orchestre National de France, with whom she will conduct again in January 2026. She also led the Orchestre National Avignon-Provence, the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Toulon, and the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté.

In 2024, she conducted the world premiere of La Petite Sirène, an opera by Régis Campo directed by Bérénice Collet, at the Opéra de Nice Côte d’Azur, where she has been a guest conductor since 2021. That same year, she conducted the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille in an ambitious program including Stravinsky’s The Firebird, Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Henri Tomasi’s Trumpet Concerto with soloist Franz Maury, and Ravel’s Boléro.

Also in 2024, Jane served as assistant conductor to Holly Hyun Choe in Germany with the LJSO (Landesjugendsinfonieorchester). She later conducted the orchestra herself in a concert at the Römerkastell Saalburg in Frankfurt, featuring Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, Debussy’s Prélude to the Afternoon of a Faun, and Saint-Saëns’s Violin Concerto No. 3, performed by violinist Maria Loudenitch.

In January 2023, she was invited to the Philharmonie de Paris to conduct a concert dedicated to French composers of “Les Six”. Since September 2023, Jane has served as conductor for the Démos project at the Opéra National de Bordeaux, a position she will hold for three years.

Selected in 2020 and 2021 by conductor Case Scaglione as one of five international finalists for the assistant conductor competition of the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, Jane was also a finalist in the Warsaw Wind Ensemble Conducting Competition 2021.

Jane has trained with internationally renowned conductors such as Johannes Schlaefli, David Reiland (with the Orchestre National de Metz), Jean-François Verdier (with the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté at the Philharmonie de Paris), Holly Hyun Choe, and Benjamin Zander (during the 2018 London Masterclasses with the Royal Northern College Orchestra of Manchester), as well as Fabien Gabel, Jordan Gudefin, and Aurélien Azan Zielinski.

She earned her orchestral conducting diploma at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris under Adrian McDonnell, before continuing her studies at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, specializing in contemporary music with Jean-Philippe Wurtz.

Jane is deeply committed to promoting musical creation in all its forms and to sharing a vibrant, accessible, and ever-evolving cultural experience. Convinced that music has the power to touch and unite all audiences, she strives to build bridges between repertoires and generations, fostering an inclusive and forward-looking artistic experience.

“With precision, Jane Latron makes us feel the emotions of the young apprentice — his satisfaction as he watches the broom carry the water buckets in his place, to the accelerating sounds of the bassoons — but then, the water begins to overflow.”
